I was so looking forward to having a weekend of pottering around doing very little, and that's exactly what I did! The furthest I went was to the herb nursery and Hobbycraft.
Then it was a weekend of a bit of planting, a bit of making and a bit of sorting through magazines for recycling (always takes a long time as I have to look at them again just to make sure it's OK to ditch them!)
This free motion embroidery is a trial run, just to see how it turned out. I'm pleased with the design but think I'll put a border on. This one is not good enough to sell so I'll display it in my craft room for a while.
Do you remember I showed you my decanter that I bought in the charity shop recently?
This is what I did with it
I take no credit for this idea as I saw it somewhere on the internet (unfortunately I can't remember where). I'm waiting for Mr B to drill a hole in the glass for the wire to go through so that I can put the stopper back in. I spent more time watching this than the TV the other night as it looks so fab!!
Hope you all had a lovely and relaxing weekend.
Thanks for visiting
xXx
Sweet finish x

DeleteSuch a great idea for your decanter!!!! That really is so clever and a great way to upcycle something that might otherwise no longer have a use in this day and age. xx
ReplyDeleteYes it is a great idea and who uses a decanter these days for what it was designed for? I love it!! XX
DeleteThe decanter is beautiful! And I really like the embroidery - looking forward to seeing it with a border (and what you choose to use for it!). Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteThanks Chrissie - I have a fabric in mind for the border but the pattern may be too large scale. XX
DeleteI love your embroidery, when you make to sell can you let me know? Thanks Amanda x
ReplyDeleteThank you Amanda, that is such a compliment - I will let you know XX
DeleteYour latest creation is wonderful and I think will look nice in your craft room. You have such a nice blog suzanne that I have nominated you for a liebster award ♡♡
ReplyDeleteThank you Joy, I'm really pleased you like the blog XX
DeleteI'm really liking your free-motion-stitching Suzanne, that is so pretty! I really enjoy doing suchlike but want more time for practice, oh yeah!!! Also loving what you've done with your decanter - that's brilliant - no pun intended! Have a great week, xoJoy
ReplyDeletepractice is essential with FME!!! It's become a bit of an obsession I'm afraid. XX
DeleteI think your free motion embroidery looks lovely. Something I haven't tried my hand at yet. Your decanter is wonderful. I have never seen one used at a lamp. I bet it creates a lovely glow in the room.
ReplyDeleteAli xx
You should try FME - it's a bit addictive though! The decanter lamp does look lovely, it's difficult to capture in in a photo. I wasn't too sure about the shape of the decanter when I bought it but it actually suits the theme very well XX
