Mini Patchwork

This is a quick post about a quick project!
A little while ago I bought a square frame in a Charity Shop, as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it.
And here it is
Mini Log Cabin.
Of course, I was too impatient to paint the frame before putting the patchwork in! It will be painted my favourite neutral colour, Farrow and Ball's Old White (eventually).
Look, I even planned the design on paper first!
Above is my first attempt, as well as it being a bit wonky, the randomness of the colours just didn't do it for me.
Have you managed to get any crafting done this BH weekend?

Thanks for visiting.

  1. Your patchwork pieces look great Suzanne - the frame will look fantastic once you've painted it. I've had a dabble at patchwork and can never get perfect joins - so I have my own rustic style - lol.

Hope you have a lovely Easter xx

  2. I think this mini patchwork is gorgeous and will be giving it a go myself along with the hexagonal patchwork in the needlework ring that you posted a couple of weeks ago. I haven't got the time (or the patience) for a big patchwork project at the moment, so I think these mini designs are just perfect and very inspiring. I also love the Easter bunny too, is it just me or does he look a bit fierce? Ok, it's just me then!! I haven't had time to do any craft yet but I did colour in one of my daughters Easter card kit cards if that counts. Happy Easter weekend. Kerry xxx

  3. Fantastic idea - I am far too impatient to complete a whole quilt so have lots of squares around - going to hunt out some frames x

  4. I think you did a fantastic job with the mini Log Cabin pattern and maybe once your frame is painted you will like the colors you chose better! waving hi from the sunny hills of North Carolina and wishing you a Happy Easter :)

  5. I love your mini patchwork... I've yet to try a log cabin block but yours looks so nice I think that might be next on my sewing to-do list!
